Very difficult to do that in a yacht which moves at around 6 knots and Hervey Bay is renowned for the sheer numbers of whales which are there at that time of year. We sat with engines off and sail down as the whales moved around us. A very special experience which you should try at some stage in your life. In all of the whale watching experiences I have had over the last 18 months (and there have been many in Canada, Mozambique and South Africa) this was certainly the least interfering of the lot. As well as Ben we chose this vessel because it is friendly towards those magnificant creatures.
